I have always been a fan of the Old Testament. Sure, it can be confusing, frustrating, dare I say… boring at times. Yet I cannot ignore one thing, a vein of beauty flowing from story to story. A heartbeat connecting God to his people, weaving the messes of man into beautiful tapestries of glory.

Love.

God was never afraid of our messes. It was the risk he took when he gave us the choice between life, and death.

Throughout the Old Testament God’s people make choices. Sometimes choosing life, sometimes death. When they chose to turn away from God, and live their own way, God stood at the door, always reminding us that he had not left, he was still there, we could still choose life.

God is Love.

Once you taste God’s love, once you have gazed into his face – you will be ruined. You will never want anything else.

As we approach Christmas I am overwhelmed by this love. Love came for me. He came for you. Not because we deserved, earned, or discovered it. Because he is good. Because Love pursues.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1

God’s perfect love was poured out for you in Christ Jesus. His only agenda is to love you to freedom and wholeness until you are the renewed, restored, glorious person he created you to be. It is your choice today to walk in the life he has offered to you in his great love.

Choose Life. Choose Love.

Merry Christmas!

I love reading, studying, teaching and preaching the Word of God! My hearts desire is to see people set free, equipped for their calling, and strengthened through the transforming power of God’s Word.
