The Secret to Wholeness is forgiveness. Walking in forgiveness will open up freedom in our bodies, minds, emotions, finances, and relationships. Unforgiveness is a bitter poison that affects every area of our lives.
Have you ever thought of the hurt someone caused you as a debt that they owe you? When we are hurt, betrayed, abused, abandoned, maligned, or misunderstood we want retribution. We want that person to make it right! They owe us!
But, they can’t repay you. Even if they really, really wanted to they could not restore what they took from you. It is a debt too great for them to repay.
What are we to do? Trust God. God forgave our great debts against Him, and expects us to forgive the debts others have against us. I have found that God is more than able to restore above, and beyond, whatever was stolen from me. The enemy of our souls means to destroy us. But it is not the actions of another that can destroy us, it is when we step out of love, when we choose to not forgive, and allow our souls to be poisoned oh-so-slowly by bitterness and hatred. When we choose to walk in love, no matter what, God can turn any hurt someone has caused us, any loss, any pain or disappointment, and produce the most beautiful of blessings we have ever experienced.
Forgive.
And even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times and says, I repent [I am sorry], you must forgive him (give up resentment and consider the offense as recalled and annulled). Luke 17:4 AMP
[12] ‘Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. [13] And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ [14] For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. [15] But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:12-15 AMP
