While having a ‘feeling-sorry-for-myself’ sort of day recently I landed on a playlist that I hadn’t listened to in awhile. I was somewhere between a jog and a power-walk on the treadmill when this song came on. Go ahead, take a listen…

By the end of the song I had increased my pace by 2 minutes per mile and remembered that IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT ME! Love those reminders!

I was also reminded WHY my sister and I started Race for FreedomI remembered the young girls who thought they were applying for a job that would help their families. The children sold by parents to pay a debt. The girls trapped in darkness, threatened, drugged, and forced to ‘serve’ up to 40 men each day… with a smile on their face. And, yes, this is happening in the US. Our kids are being trafficked and sold into this dark industry.

The line in this song that really gets me is:

Little girl don’t cry
let me dry your eyes in the darkest night
(You’re not alone)
Hold on through the storm
You’re not on your own
Hold on, love will come

Hold on, love will come. Will you let your heart be moved, stirred to love?

I hope that you are AWAKENED to the plight of TWENTY-SEVEN MILLION people around the world who are in slavery, many young women and children (yes, even children) forced into the sex industry.

I hope that you are INSPIRED to do something about it. A tea party? A fun-run/walk? A CD project? A cupcake bake sale? Whatever you’ve got in your hands today, will you begin to use it to make a difference?

I would also love to ENCOURAGE you! If you’re not sure HOW to get started, or WHAT to do… let’s talk! Email, comment below, tweet, text, facebook, whatever… but let’s talk!

Check out the Race for Freedom website for a race or fun run near you!

I love reading, studying, teaching and preaching the Word of God! My hearts desire is to see people set free, equipped for their calling, and strengthened through the transforming power of God’s Word.
